Our mission is to promote and facilitate the revitalization of the Maryvale community.

Vision:
Our vision is a strong vibrant and inviting community that reflects its diversity and is respected and admired by the entire city. Strong enhanced relationships between all residents, the City of Phoenix, businesses, educators, non-profits, and our faith based community will foster a balanced approach to renewed pride, image, appearance and values. We believe this exciting journey will accomplish our vision of a better place to live, work, play and raise families.

Maryvale Revitalization Corporation Goals:

Improve quality of housing in the community through rehabilitation of properties
Removal of blight and replace those areas with new development
Provide opportunities for Maryvale area youth, youth outreach and training
Community outreach to neighborhood associations, including tool trailer and graffiti abatement trailer programs
Promote current Maryvale area businesses while at the same time create new business and employment opportunities
Collaborate with businesses and organizations to improve the quality of life in the community and achieve our goals
Collaborate with government to find ways to increase services to area residents
Promote a positive image of the Maryvale Village and encourage economic development
Provide educational opportunities to residents through a variety of programs
Work to promote cultural awareness and education in the community
Work with concerned residents to promote block watch, blight abatement and neighborhood associations
Identify and apply for grants to enhance the goals of the Maryvale Revitalization Corporation

2011 Maryvale Revitalization Corporation Newsletter

Maryvale Revitalization Corporation was founded by community leaders in January 2005 with an original focus on the physical revitalization of the community. In 2008 that scope was expanded to include social programming to increase and develop the social capital of the community.

In 2007 & 2010 WESTMARC honored Maryvale Revitalization Corporation with its Best of the West award as the top non-profit organization in western Maricopa County in the Service To Communities category!

The 2011 Jacori Rufus Memorial College Scholarship Charity Golf Tournament was on June 18 at the Maryvale Golf Course. The tournament raised money for college scholarships for students from Alhambra, Maryvale & Trevor Browne High Schools - thanks to our 110 golfers.

On November 5 thanks to sponsorship from USA Pawn & Jewelry we are hosting our second annual Community Garden In Harmony multicultural charity festival. It will be at Ashley Furniture HomeStore Pavilion gates open at 5:00pm. Seats are still available, discount for hosting a table for eight, contact us for details.

We felt a great loss in our community on Feb. 29, 2008 when John F. Long passed away. Mr. Long will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Our thoughts go with his family and associates.

He was respected and loved by thousands. Mr. Long master planned and built most early Maryvale and was recognized nationally as one of the top home builders and innovators of the era. We continue his work of making Maryvale a great and vibrant place.
